Definition

A qualification is exempt from assessment and qualifies for the points indicated if all of the following are met: [I-ireland-technical-craft-related-qualifications][I-ireland]

  1. The qualification is listed in the Technical Craft Related Qualifications Table.
  2. The awarding body is one of those listed in the Awarding Bodies Tables for that qualification.
  3. The qualification abbreviation matches the abbreviation shown in the Awarding Bodies Tables.
  4. The qualification was awarded from or within the year range listed for that awarding body.
  5. The qualification is not excluded by the notes under the Technical Craft Related Qualifications Table (e.g., must be referred to NZQA).

Institutes of Technology with delegated authority

The name of one of the Institutes of Technology appears on the award certificate. Between 2005–2012 certificates stated that authority was delegated by HETAC; from 2013–2015 “awarded by QQI” appears under the HETAC logo; from 2015 certificates state awarded by authority delegated by QQI. Application in decisions

Immigration officers assessing Skilled Migrant Category applications may award 40 points for a listed technical craft qualification if it was issued by a recognised awarding body within the specified dates and is not disqualified by the notes. If any condition is not met, or the applicant claims a higher NZQF level, the qualification must be referred to NZQA for an International Qualifications Assessment.
